Virus Viewing:
I developed both these applications, aimed at improving the numeric model of a virus data set and viewing it interactively. This was done during my internship at the the NIAMS laboratory, at the NIH (National Institute for Health, Washington D.C.).

This view illustrates the clipping option of the application. The part of the model present out of the clipping volume it culled and a surface covers the sectioned part to highlight the contour. Note that the surface normals where specified in order to make the cut sections appear smooth.
A complete virus. The noise in the data set creates solid pieces around and inside the model. The visualizer enables the user to cut this out by specifying an inner and outer sphere.
